I mainly play guitar and this has been hanging around on and off (in and out of storage) but has been rarely used.
Yamaha bass serial numbers serial numbers#
In the 60s Insurance companies made it mandatory that serial numbers be put on items so they can be documented. Made in Japan Custom Shop 1986 1990 These serial numbers have 1 letter followed by 4 numbers. I think in general serial numbers do play an important role in the commercial market especially electronics and other high end items. The closer to 001 it is the closer to 1966 and the closer to 1042, the closer to 1985. To work out the year youll have to take a rough guess. It’s basically in flawless condition, with no damage and very little wear and tare. These were just sequential serial numbers from 001 up to 1042. Everything pictured is ready to be professionally packed and shipped. Selling my Yamaha bass which I have owned for the last 20 odd years.

All electronics have been tested and are in working condition. I love how easy slapping is on this one, it feels like it was designed for every aspect of a bass player, whether its using the fingers, picks, tapping or slapping! Lots of great tone options as well, the active electronics on this bass sound buttery! It has that Batman blacked out theme to it, and truly is my favorite bass in the shop. Nice low action, and a great tuneup by our Luthier, plays like a dream! Some light fret wear, but nothing major. The specifications of its bell, barrel, toneholes and other features are very close to those of the Custom SEV model, so its sound is warm, round, and deeply resonant. This bass is an absolute pleasure to play. The 650 is an excellent alternative for those who are serious about their clarinet performance but need to watch their budget. It also has some light dings here and there from normal use over the years.
